Wickhams Spider Pearl
LFT-NA19.10Description
Wickham's Fancy is attributed to Dr. T. C. Wickham of Winchester, said to have developed it in the 1880s for the chalk streams of southern England - a "fancy" fly with no specific natural imitation, whose exact credit was already disputed at the time. This soft-hackled "spider" version with a pearl accent adds extra sparkle to the original.
The Wickhams Spider Pearl is classically fished wet across the current - the pearl accent adds extra flash in the water and makes it a striking variant of the classic Wickham family.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
