Core Pheasant Tail

The Pheasant Tail Nymph was developed in 1958 by Frank Sawyer, a river keeper on the Hampshire Avon, and tied exclusively with fine copper wire instead of tying thread. This Core variant follows his original, reduced build.

The true-to-life pheasant tail body imitates mayfly larvae and other aquatic insects. It's fished dead-drift and close to the bottom, ranking among the most versatile and reliable nymph patterns for trout and grayling.
