The Partridge & Yellow Spider belongs to the time-honored family of North Country spider patterns from the Yorkshire Dales, which emerged in the early 19th century and became widely known through T. E. Pritt's 1885 book "Yorkshire Trout Flies". Its namesake partridge hackle feather and bright yellow body follow the minimalist construction of this pattern family.
The Partridge & Yellow Spider is classically fished wet, across the current with a natural drift - its soft, lively hackle creates strong triggers in murky water or low light. A proven pattern for trout and grayling, especially for tempting sluggish fish.
