Wickham's Red Arsed

Wickham's Red Arsed is a variant of the classic British Wickham's Fancy, said to have been developed by Dr. T. C. Wickham of Winchester in the 1880s for the chalk streams of southern England - a "fancy" fly with no specific natural imitation, whose exact credit was already disputed at the time. This version adds a red rear end (hence "Red Arsed") for extra trigger appeal.

With its palmered golden hackle and gold-ribbed body, Wickham's Red Arsed works just like the original as a versatile searching pattern - fished dry on broken water or wet across the current, regardless of any specific hatch.
