The Endrick Spider was developed around 1975 by John Harwood as a weighted pattern for salmon and sea trout on the River Endrick in Scotland, which flows into Loch Lomond; it was named in 1985 by P. M. Philps. The original dressing of hot orange silk, copper wire, pheasant tail fibers, and partridge hackle has since also established itself as a versatile stillwater and trout fly. This tungsten variant with a copper accent follows the classic build.
As a weighted point fly, the Tungsten Endrick Spider Copper gets a team of nymphs down to depth quickly. It's fished classically wet as part of a team with other spider patterns and is a proven choice for trout on both stillwater and rivers.
