The Delta Wing Stonefly Spent Yellow imitates a freshly hatched stonefly that - like many of its kind - never made it to safety and lies exhausted on the water ("spent"). The yellow body and triangular, splayed white delta wings recreate this characteristic posture.
The fly is fished dead-drift on calm to moderately broken water, when spent or exhausted insects are drifting on the surface after a stonefly hatch - a targeted imitation for exactly that moment.
