Silver Head Blue Purple Pheasant Tail
LFT-N90.16Description
The Pheasant Tail Nymph was developed in 1958 by Frank Sawyer, a river keeper on the Hampshire Avon, and tied exclusively with fine copper wire instead of tying thread. This variant with a silver bead and blue-purple body is a later, modern addition for which no single inventor can be named anymore.
The blue-purple body with natural pheasant fibers creates targeted triggers underwater, while the silver bead gives a fast sink rate. It's fished close to the bottom and is a proven choice for trout and grayling in deep pools or strong current.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
