Description

The Yellow Spider belongs to the time-honored family of North Country spider patterns from the Yorkshire Dales, which emerged in the early 19th century and became widely known through T. E. Pritt's 1885 book "Yorkshire Trout Flies". Its bright yellow body follows the minimalist construction of this pattern family, for which no single inventor can be named anymore.

The Yellow Spider is classically fished wet, across the current with a natural drift. Its soft hackle creates lively movement in the water, making it a strong trigger fly for trout and grayling especially in murky water or under overcast skies.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
