Jujubee Midge
LFT-N68.12Description
The Jujubee Midge was developed over twenty years ago by Charlie Craven on the South Platte River. While tying barracuda streamers from SuperHair, he wondered what would happen if he wrapped the material around a midge hook instead - the fly is named after his daughter Julie, whom he's called "Jujubee" since birth.
The slim, ribbed SuperHair body with a dubbed thorax and wingcase imitates midge larvae and pupae and is especially effective in tailwater runs with selective fish. Tied barbless, it's fished close to the bottom or as part of a multi-fly team.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
