Transparent Ant Black
LFT-TE6.14Description
The Transparent Ant Black is a modern ant imitation with a see-through body - usually built from UV resin or clear synthetic material, which comes closer to the glossy chitin shell of a real ant than matte dubbing does. As with most modern ant patterns, no single inventor is recorded.
Especially in backlight and in clear, calm water, the transparent shell reads as particularly lifelike, while the black colour matches one of the two most common natural ant colours (the other is chocolate-brown to reddish, see Transparent Ant Red). Like other ant patterns it is tied barbless and fished dead-drift right in the surface film - especially productive in the afternoon, when ants are taken selectively on larger rivers.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
