Teal Blue Damse
LFT-NA13.08Description
The Teal Blue Damse belongs to the time-honored family of Teal flies, whose namesake wing is tied from the characteristically barred feather of the teal duck - a material that could only be paired with matching blue shades after the invention of chemical dyes in the 1830s. This version specifically imitates damselfly nymphs.
The Teal Blue Damse is classically fished wet, with slow, gently undulating strips to imitate the swimming motion of a damselfly nymph - especially effective on stillwater, when damselfly nymphs migrate toward shore to hatch.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
