F-Fly Black
LFT-T120.14Description
The F-Fly is a minimalist dry fly developed by Slovenian fly fisherman Marjan Fratnik on the Soča river in western Slovenia - sources differ on the exact year, most citing the 1970s or 1980s. Fratnik's tying philosophy was refreshingly simple: "A fly that needs more than 60 seconds to be tied is not worth much." This black variant covers dark insects such as gnats and dark caddisflies.
The F-Fly imitates both emerging insects and spinners and is fished dead-drift on calm to moderately broken water - especially for grayling and trout on clear rivers, it's regarded as an extremely reliable, understated all-rounder.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
