No documented origin or inventor can be traced for the Minimal Pattern Sand Nymph. It belongs to the Minimal Pattern series of sparsely dressed nymphs that use a reduced amount of material to give a general impression of several insect groups. This sand variant gives a general impression of pale nymphs and scuds.
The slim sand-colored body looks especially natural in clear water. Tied barbless, it's fished dead-drift and works as a reliable general-purpose nymph for trout and grayling.
