Head Red Tag

The Red Tag was developed in the 1850s by Martyn Flynn of Worcestershire, England, as a dry fly for grayling - originally under the name "Worcestershire Gem" or "Worcestershire Wonder". Through Francis Walbran the pattern reached Yorkshire, where it established itself as a trout and grayling fly, and later Australia, where it remains one of the most essential flies to this day. This head variant with a bead follows the classic build of peacock-herl body and red tail.

The glossy peacock-herl body with its distinctive red wool tail creates strong triggers underwater. It's fished dead-drift and is a proven, versatile pattern for trout and grayling.
