Deer Hair Sedge Brown
LFT-T37.12Description
The Deer Hair Sedge is a classic caddisfly imitation tied from deer hair. The air-filled hair provides reliable buoyancy, while the clipped, wing-like shape recreates the silhouette of a resting or egg-laying caddisfly - a proven European tying tradition with no single documented inventor. This brown variant covers the many brownish caddisfly species commonly found on streams and rivers.
Thanks to its bulky deer-hair body, the Deer Hair Sedge floats excellently on broken water - classically fished dead-drift or with a light strip to imitate skittering or egg-laying caddisflies.
Fair Trade, Full Circle
Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
