Brown Stonefly

Large, dark stonefly nymphs spend several years on the riverbed before hatching and rank among the most important year-round food sources for trout in fast-flowing, rocky rivers. Their natural coloring ranges from dark brown to black, which is what gives the Brown Stonefly its true-to-life coloring.

Because stonefly nymphs are weak swimmers and crawl along the bottom before emerging, the Brown Stonefly is fished close to the bottom - classically high-sticked or under an indicator along current seams. A proven, bold pattern for trout in turbulent river stretches.
