Description

The Zebra Midge was developed in 1996 by Arizona-based fly-fishing guide Ted Welling, who guides the Lee's Ferry stretch of the Colorado River - a tailwater with cold, constant flows released from a dam, where midges are an important year-round food source. It's considered a further development of the Ice Cream Cone, created by Kelly Davidson in British Columbia in 1992.

With its minimalist build of wound wire over a slim body and contrasting head, the Zebra Midge imitates a midge pupa. It's fished dead-drift or static under an indicator and is a reliable choice for trout especially on tailwaters with year-round midge hatches.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
