Stonefly Emerger

No documented origin or inventor can be traced for the Stonefly Emerger. It imitates the hatching stage of a stonefly, when the nymph rises to the surface to shed its skin and become an adult.

In this brief, defenseless moment it's especially readily taken by trout and grayling. Tied barbless, it's fished just under the surface or as part of a multi-fly team.
