Orange Tag

The Orange Tag is a color variant of the classic Red Tag, said to have been developed by Martyn Flynn of Worcestershire in the 1850s - originally a dry fly for grayling fishing known as the "Worcestershire Gem". Typical of the Red Tag family is a peacock herl body and a colored tag at the tail, here in orange instead of the classic red.

The Orange Tag is fished as a versatile searching pattern, classically wet across the current or as the point fly on a team - the colored tag adds extra trigger appeal when the classic red isn't working.
