The Goddard Caddis is a British caddisfly imitation, developed by John Goddard and Cliff Henry in the early 1960s under the name "G & H Sedge". American fly tyer Andre Puyans simplified the pattern in the late 1960s and popularized it in the US under the name "Goddard Caddis" - to this day one of the best-known caddisfly imitations there is.
The bulky, clipped deer-hair body makes the Goddard Caddis extremely buoyant - ideal for stripping across the surface to imitate skittering caddisflies, but also a reliable choice fished dead-drift on broken water.
