Description

The Invicta was developed by James Ogden, a well-known fly tyer and tackle-shop owner from Cheltenham, and published in his 1879 book "Ogden on Fly Tying". Originally tied with a dubbed yellow body, it was designed to imitate a hatching caddisfly. Ogden was an influential figure in British fly-fishing history - among other things, he developed the first dry flies specifically designed to float.

The Invicta remains a favorite for stillwater fishing to this day and is classically fished across the current or with a slow retrieve - its silhouette suggests both caddisflies and small baitfish, making it a versatile choice.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
