No documented origin or inventor can be found for the Heavy Nymph. It belongs to the broad family of heavily weighted nymph patterns developed specifically for a fast sink rate.

Thanks to its added weight, the Heavy Nymph reaches the right depth quickly even in deep or fast-flowing water. It's fished close to the bottom and is a reliable choice for trout and grayling especially in strong current.
