The Pheasant Tail Nymph was developed in 1958 by Frank Sawyer, a river keeper on the Hampshire Avon, and tied exclusively with fine copper wire instead of tying thread. This broad attractor variant with shimmering blue tones is a later, modern addition for which no single inventor can be named anymore.
The broad pheasant-fiber tail and gold bead create additional triggers, while the shimmering body stands out even in deeper water. It's fished close to the bottom in fast current and works from mountain streams to full rivers.
