Description

Accounts of the Zulu's origin conflict: some sources date the pattern back several hundred years, while others place its development in mid-20th-century Scotland. The origin of the name itself also remains unresolved to this day. What's certain is that the Black Zulu, with its bold black silhouette and red tag, ranks among the best-known British wet fly patterns - it proved so effective that it was at one point banned from competitive angling.

The Black Zulu is fished both on rivers and loch-style on stillwater - classically swung or twitched just under the surface. It shows its full effectiveness on trout and char in murky water, under overcast skies, or in stronger current.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
