Bead Head Prince

The Prince Nymph traces back to an earlier pattern by brothers Don and Dick Olson, which California fly tyer Doug Prince further developed in the 1930s; fly-shop owner Buz Buszek later gave it the name Prince Nymph. This bead-head variant with a gold bead follows the classic build of a peacock-herl body and white biot wings.

The striking contrast between the dark peacock body and pale wings makes it one of the most widely fished attractor patterns in the world. Tied barbless, it's fished deep or as part of a multi-fly team and consistently produces trout and grayling.
