Description

The Adams is one of the best-known and most-tied dry flies in America. Leonard Halladay of Mayfield, Michigan, developed it in 1922 at the request of his friend Charles Adams, an Ohio attorney, who asked for an imitation of the insects he'd observed after a successful day fishing the Boardman River - Halladay named the fly after him. This version with a parachute hackle and extended body improves its balance on the water and additionally imitates larger mayfly species.

The Adams is regarded as an all-purpose imitation for a wide range of grey-brown mayflies and is fished dead-drift - thanks to its flush-sitting parachute hackle and realistic extended body, an especially convincing choice for selective trout on calm water.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
