Description

The Green Peter is a traditional Irish and Scottish pattern imitating the large caddisfly Phryganea varia. No single inventor or precise date of origin can be reliably named anymore - it's known above all as a proven fly of the Irish loughs and Scottish highland lochs, where it's traditionally fished as the top dropper on the leader.

In loch-style fishing, the Green Peter is usually fished as the top fly and skated across the surface to imitate the conspicuous flight of the hatching or egg-laying caddisfly. It's a reliable choice for trout on stillwater, especially on summer evenings.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
