CDC Micro Midge

The CDC Micro Midge is a minimalist imitation of the smallest midge species (Chironomidae), tied with just a few CDC fibers. Nothing reliable turns up about a single inventor - the pattern stands in the modern tradition of minimalist CDC flies.

The CDC Micro Midge is fished dead-drift on calm water when very small midges are hatching - often the only fly that still works for extremely selective fish on stillwater and calm river stretches.
