Description

The Coachman is one of the oldest American-British flies there is. Englishman Tom Bosworth, himself a coachman (hence the name), tied the first version in 1830 with a peacock herl body and white, slightly swept-back wings - deliberately kept pale to make the fly clearly visible when fishing at night. Originally conceived as a wet fly, it was later developed with grey wings into the "Leadwing Coachman", and in 1878 also inspired the famous Royal Coachman.

The Coachman Wet Fly is classically fished wet across the current, ideal at dusk or during night fishing, when its pale wing coloring stays clearly visible - a genuine classic for trout.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
