The RS2 was developed in 1975 by Rim Chung of Denver, Colorado, to imitate the small mayfly and midge hatches on the South Platte River. The name stands for "Rim's Semblance 2". The original version was tied with natural beaver fur dubbing and saddle hackle for the wing and quickly became a standard pattern for the selective trout of America's tailwaters.
The slim grey body with a synthetic wing post and long tail fibers perfectly imitates hatching mayflies. The RS2 Grey Emerger is fished dead-drift in calm stretches of water and is a reliable pattern for selective trout under heavy fishing pressure.
