Description

The name Kriebel refers to the "Kriebelmücke" (Simuliidae, blackfly), whose larvae live in fast-flowing, oxygen-rich water and are an important food source for trout and grayling. No documented origin or inventor can be found for the specific fly pattern itself.

With its slim, dark body, the Kriebel imitates blackfly larvae clinging to the substrate. It's fished close to the bottom and dead-drift, a proven choice especially in fast-flowing river stretches.

Fair Trade, Full Circle

Your flies are tied fairly, with the best materials, on a barbless hook. "Fliegenfischen mit Herz" is building a base for women in Nairobi. The women there own and run the tying workshop themselves, giving them economic independence, pride in their craft, and joy in their customers. Let's work together toward a more balanced world.
