Blue Winged Olive Nymph

Blue-Winged Olives (Baetis) rank among the most common and widespread mayflies in rivers and streams worldwide, with over 150 known species. The nymphs live under rocks and in aquatic plants and are strong swimmers - a year-round important food source for trout and grayling, especially in spring and autumn.

With its olive-green, finely segmented body, the Blue Winged Olive Nymph imitates this mayfly's larva. It's fished dead-drift or with a light strip retrieve and is a reliable choice especially during the transitional seasons on calmer-flowing water.
